Abstract
Myanmar is located in Southeast Asia along the Bay of Bengal. It shares borders with Bangladesh and India to the west, Laos and Thailand to the east, and China in the north and northeast. It is divided into seven states and seven divisions. The major ethnic groups in Myanmar include the Bamar, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, and Shan. Ninety percent of the population is Buddhist, while the rest are Christian, Muslim, Hindu, and Animist. Many smaller ethnic clusters are also spread throughout the country, and each of the ethnic groups speaks a different dialect and observes different customs and traditions.
