The New Wave of Korean Feminist Theology in Context
Greetings to All,
We are committed to reflecting the latest trends and discussions in the fields of feminist theology. This issue focuses on the new wave of feminism and the subsequent activities initiated by young Christian women in South Korea, pursuing a safe and gender-equal community in their daily lives.
The feminist ecumenical worship service, which began as a gathering to commemorate the victim of the Gangnam Station misogynistic crime, alongside the interest of young Christian women in the 2018 Me Too movement and the effort to deal with issues of sexual violence in and out of the church, is infusing new vitality into Korean feminist theology.
In light of this, we invite submissions that explore the changes in the feminist movement in Korea and the theological reflections arising from it. We particularly welcome papers addressing the following themes:
– Key characteristics of the feminist reboot in South Korean society since 2018
– The unfolding backlash against feminism
– The feminist movement viewed through the lens of feminist theology and its social context
We also welcome submissions of feminist theological liturgies, prayers, artworks, photographs, and more.
Key Dates of Submission
– Submissions Open: Immediately
– Submissions Deadline: Feb 21, 2025
Please send your submission to service.igiawrc@gmail.com.
We look forward to your valuable contributions that will foster diverse perspectives and in-depth discussions in Korea. We appreciate your interest and participation. Thank you.
Warm regards,
Eunjung Kim
